Volunteer Opportunities
EWI is growing at a very exciting rate, and we need your volunteer expertise to make it happen! If you are a student looking to use a volunteer opportunity as an internship, please let us know and we will gladly work with your Department of study to meet its requirements.
1. Grant Writers
If you have any previous experience writing grants for foundations and government, and available time to work with us, we need your help and expertise. Flexible schedule. Open immediately. Email Marga at cfripp@aol.com
2. Outreach Organizers
Organize events and campaigns to promote EWI's programs and services to immigrant and refugee communities in Alexandria City and the DC Metropolitan area. Previous experience required, but training and guidance provided. 4-8 Hours/week office work.
3. Volunteer Coordinator
Recruits and trains volunteers with experience in various fields such as the arts,
multicultural or anthropology programs, professional development, enterprise programs to assist and train immigrant and refugee women in finding jobs and economic opportunities in the area of their interest and expertise. Previous experience working with professionals is required.
4. Arts Resources Organizer
Create a database of arts and artisans related resources in the DC Metropolitan area. The database will serve as a source of information and assistance for women beneficiaries interested to expand their knowledge and arts skills, and become recognized for their
creative talents and arts.
5. Art Events and Fundraising
EWI organizes monthly arts events and special fundraisers. We need help at each of these events to set up the place, sell tickets, greet people at the door, etc. If interested to help, email us and we will add you to our crew of volunteers for art events.
6. Bookkeeper
EWI needs a bookkeeper with experience in nonprofit and willingness to spend an hour a week working with EWI.
7. Artists, Artisans, Writers, Activists, Immigrant Speakers and Entrepreneurs
EWI recruits Artists, Artisans, Writers, Activists, Immigrant Speakers and Entrepreneurs to teach their knowledge and skills to immigrant and refugee women through creative approaches. Workshops on different arts programs, economic and self-empowerment initiatives are organized monthly at EWI office. Your personal story, knowledge or expertise can inspire and guide an immigrant or refugee woman to follow her dreams. If interested contact Marga at: 703-778-6310, or email her at: CFripp@aol.com.
